Knights of Columbus to host contests for youth

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Knights of Columbus Council No. 1558 will host a math, spelling, and free throw contest on Feb.1 at St. Vincent de Paul School, 831 12th St. South, Wisconsin Rapids.

The math and spelling contests are for students in grades five through eight. Each student may compete in either one or both contests. Awards will be presented for each grade and the winners will be eligible to participate at the diocesan level contest in Plover on Feb. 22.  Winners at the diocesan level can move on to the state contest at Assumption High School on March 28.

The free throw contest is for children ages 9-14. Boys and girls will compete separately.  Awards will be presented to the winners, and they will be eligible to compete at the District level also at St. Vincent de Paul on Feb. 1.  Winners at the district can move on to diocesan contest to be held at Aquinas High School on March 8.  The state contest will also be held at Assumption High School.
