WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings Junior A Hockey Team kicked off their seventh season with their first home games of the 2020-2021 Premier Hockey season Oct. 9-10.
“Riverkings and USPHL mandate that we must all follow the rules and regulations for this hockey season. The fans are limited to 450 people per game,” a Riverkings release said.
“Those who attend games will be required to wear face masks in the rink and follow social distancing put forth by CDC and our county health department. The bleachers will be divided into different sized sections for groups to sit and watch with the six-foot distance between them.
“These rules are put in place for the safety of all players, staff, volunteers, and the fans that attend. We are hoping that we will be able to get back to normal, but safety is always most important.
“If you cannot make it to the games but would still like to watch them live, you can subscribe to HockeyTV to watch all home and away games. The Wisconsin Rapids Community Media also plays the games on the cable/satellite channel and it is also posted on YouTube.”
The home openers will take place Oct. 9-10 at the South Wood County Recreation Center in Wisconsin Rapids; puck drops at 7 p.m.
