United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties to distribute emergency funds for Wood County

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties is the fiscal agent for an award of federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program (EFSP).
Wood County has been chosen to receive $19,977 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in Wood County. Applications are being accepted for EFSP funds from agencies that provide shelter, food, and supportive services for homeless individuals in Wood County.
Under the terms of the grant from the National EFSP Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: be private voluntary non-profits or units of government; be eligible to receive federal funds; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination; have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs; and if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.
