Riverkings to host home opener

WISCONSIN RAPIDS –The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings came off a sweep of the Rum River Mallards, to take on the Minnesota Blue Ox, Oct. 8 & 9, and lost both 5-4 and 7-2.
After the first two weekends, the Riverkings’ top scorers are: Jordan Stear, 6; Adam Brzezicki, 5; Jeff Rebmann, 5; Grant Newcomer, 4; and Colby Brett, 4.
The Riverkings headed to Minnesota to face the Mullets Oct. 14-15.
The following week, Oct. 22-23, the Riverkings will host their 2021-22 home opener at South Wood County Recreation Center, versus the Minnesota Moose.
The Moose and Riverkings have historically battled for first place in the division. Last season, the Riverkings finished one point in front of the Moose to secure the division championship.
