Snowmobile Trails Opening
For the City Times
Finally, snowmobile trails in the region will be open for use.
Sandra Green, Wood County Snowmobile/ATV Coordinator, announced that the Kellner Knights, Rudolph River Rovers and Vesper Snow Drifters would like to open their snowmobile trails as of Tuesday, Jan.10.
Additionally, the Sunset Drifters and Yellow River Riders would like to open their trails on Friday morning, Jan. 13 at 8:00 am.
Riders should practice, safe and responsible riding out on the trails as conditions will vary from excellent to fair throughout the system. Riders should specifically be on the lookout for rough patches across fields, ice patches (watch for caution signs), and thin snow coverage.
Wood County snowmobile trails are subject to periodic closures as determined by the county coordinator. For updates, recent closures or openings please check our website, our Facebook page at “Wood County Park and Forestry Department” or TravelWisconsin.com.
