Trial set for Rapids homicide case

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Trial is set for a Marshfield man charged in the death of his ex-wife’s husband.
A four-day trial in Wood County Court is set to begin Dec. 17 for Gary Bohman, 59, who according to reports entered Higher Grounds Bakery, 4231 Eighth St. South, Wisconsin Rapids on March 24 and shot 39-year-old Christopher Race, while he was working behind the counter. Race’s two young children were present at the time and the incident was captured on video surveillance.
Bohman was located in the parking lot shortly after the incident and arrested. Bohman is charged with first degree intentional homicide and is being held on a $1 million bond.
A motive for the shooting has not been released.
