Volunteer opportunities available at the Lowell Center

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The following volunteer opportunities are available at the Lowell Center, Wisconsin Rapids:
Volunteer Receptionists
Volunteer receptionists answer phones and greet/direct clients. There may be projects from the office staff from time to time and the volunteer may be required to take new visitors on a tour of center. Training is provided. Hours and schedules are flexible to your availability, but shift would only be during office hours.
Computer Tutor
The center is looking for someone proficient in computer usage to teach others to do basic things, such as: learning to use their new computers, email, searching the web, and how to use basic computer programs, such as Word, and Excel. Candidates must be willing to at least devote one to two hours, one day per week.
Bingo Card Sales
Prior to the game starting, volunteers sell bingo cards and verify that people have signed the check-in sheet. Bingo is played twice monthly, on the first and third Thursday, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. From October through May, there is an additional bingo offered on the third Sunday of the month. The Lowell Center age requirement is age 50 and better, but if you do not meet the age requirement, please do not be discouraged.
Bingo Caller
Prior to the game starting, callers verify that all numbers are accounted for; they also run the Bingo machine, call out numbers, verify the bingo numbers, and explain bingo game rules. Bingo is played twice monthly, on the first and third Thursday, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday openings run from October thru May. The Lowell Center age requirement is age 50 and better, but if you do not meet the age requirement, please do not be discouraged.
