SPASH boys stop Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Stevens Point boys basketball headed to Wisconsin Rapids on Jan. 31, for a Wisconsin Valley Conference game, where SPASH was able to stop Wisconsin Rapids and take the conference win.
SPASH had a commanding lead at the half of 45-31. They continued to dominate the Rapids team in the second half as well and won the game 79-56.
Dylan Lisitza of Wisconsin Rapids led his team in scoring with 17 points. Matt Schooley added 12 of his own.
SPASH was led by Evan Vollendorf, who scored 25 points for the Panthers. Teammate Nate Streveler added 15 points, and Gavin Hyer and Bryce Pelky each had 12.
SPASH’s record improved to 5-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Rapids fell to 3-5.
Up next for SPASH is Merrill on Feb. 7 and Neenah on Feb. 11. Wisconsin Rapids will head to Rhinelander on Feb. 4 and Appleton North on Feb. 11.
