Nekoosa Hometown Christmas Offers All Day Entertainment

The annnual Nekoosa Area Hometown Christmas is set for Dec. 5.
The festivities run all day and begin at 8:30 AM with Breakfast With Santa until 10:30 AM at the Retirment Community of Nekoosa. Breakfast offerings include pancakes, eggs, sausages, juice and coffee at $7 for adults, $3 for children ages six to twelve and free for those under five years old. Pictures with Santa will be available.
From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, holiday-themed arts, crafts and more will be on display at the Alexander Middle School. Lunch will be available to purchase from the Girl Scouts of America. Tractor wagon rides will also run at the middle school from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Two sessions of children’s story time and cookie decorating are available at the Charles and JoAnn Lester Library from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM and 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM.
The Nekoosa Police, Fire and Ambulance Departments are having open houses from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Beginning at 4:30 PM is the Good Ol’ Spirit of Christmas at Thompson Park. Santa will arrive at the park around 4:45 PM for the tree lighting ceremony.
The Hometown Christmas Parade begins at 5:15 PM and begins at Goodfellas Pizza, runs through downtown and ends at the Nekoosa Library.
Following the parade will be the Light Up the Sky fireworks show put on by Hyland Fireworks at the Retirement Community of Nekoosa. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available following the fireworks show.
Alexander Middle School is located at 540 Birch St. in Nekoosa, the Charles and JoAnn Lester Library at 100 Park St., the Retirement Community of Nekoosa at 145 N. Cedar St. and Thompson Park runs along Market St.
