Legion Park will have some new additions, soon.

The Parks & Recreation Committee approved the installation of park tables at Legion Park totaling $9,206 dollars. The city will purchase the tables to then be purchased by others within the community as memorial tables.

Concrete pads have already been installed in the park to prepare for the new park tables.

“We did a pretty extensive search for tables and found one that met the criteria,” said committee member Matt Heiderman. “As people would purchase them as a memorial, then that money would just be put back into the outlay. [budget]”

There will be plaque next to the tables to commemorate the memorial and its buyer. This option will be available to anyone that is interested in buying one.

This move is a part of the riverfront project, which will see updates and renovations by 2018.
