Not only do the Riverkings build hockey up and down the river, but they pass it down through generations.

This past Tuesday, Riverkings players ran the South Wood County Youth Hockey Mites’ practice. Coordinator, Allison Graf paired up with Riverkings’ Coach Marty Quarters to organize the practice.

The practice plan, however, was assembled by Riverkings players. Austyn Quarters, Adam Peterson, Antonio Demacopulous, Erik Schuette, Jan Snekerik, Alti Valdimarrson, Rich Young, Kurt LePak, Joey Frantantonio, Christian Meisinger and Kyle Smith ran practice on the ice as a group.

The practice focused on skating and skills through fun activities which included basic power skating drills, skill circuits, sharks and minnows game, a full ice hockey game with a soccer ball, and agility skating at the end.

Saturday and Sunday, the Riverkings travel to Owatonna, Minn. for a two game series against the Steele County Blades.
