Two suspected methamphetamine dealers face drug charges after a K-9 search of their vehicle.

According to police reports on Jan. 25, a traffic stop was initiated by an officer under the belief that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. Police identified the driver as 36-year-old Donald Fleener, of Wisconsin Dells, and 39-year-old Joseph Davis, of Wisconsin Rapids.

After a K-9 sniff of the perimeter indicated positive, a search of the inside of the vehicle was conducted by officers. Located inside of the glove box was a clear bag containing marijuana, a digital scale with a white substance on it, as well as a gem bag containing methamphetamine.

The total amount of methamphetamine found equaled 3.3 grams, which according to police equates to 33 uses. Such a high amount is believed to be for resale, and not for personal use.

Inside of the trunk, officers also located a zipper bag containing multiple gem bags with white residue, as well as a used syringe.

If convicted, Davis faces up to 15 years imprisonment and to up $50,000 in fines for possession of amphetamines with intent to sell. Fleener faces up to 18 years and six months imprisonment and up to $50,000 in fines for possession of amphetamines with intent to sell, and an added second offense of marijuana possession.

Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 9.
