WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 41-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man after failing to show for court.

According to police reports, on April 10, officers executed a search warrant at a hotel on 8th St. South stemming from suspected illegal activities. Police made contact with three people, one of whom was identified as Jason Sanger. Sanger told police that everything in the room belonged to him, and had nothing to do with the other individuals.

Through a search of the room, police found a sealed bag containing 14.56 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and unused baggies commonly used to package and sell meth. The amount Sanger allegedly had equated to 100 salable units of methamphetamine.

Sanger is charged with possession of amphetamines with intent to sell. If convicted, Sanger faces up to 40 years imprisonment and up to $100,000 in fines.

Wood County Sheriff’s Department officials advise not to apprehend the defendant if seen, and to immediately call 715-421-8700 with this whereabouts.
