WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The city of Wisconsin Rapids has interest-free loan funds available for home repairs/improvements for income-eligible city residents.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are administered locally by CAP Services through its Home Rehabilitation program.

“I encourage Wisconsin Rapids homeowners to check out this program to see if they are eligible and it meets their needs,” said James Barrett, CAP’s Assistant Director of Housing. “The program provides extra financial help that is sometimes needed to make homes energy efficient and safe.”

Loan funds can be used for housing repairs including roof replacement; door and window repair and replacement; siding replacement; foundation repair; handicap accessibility accommodation;
plumbing; electrical; heating system replacement; water heater replacement; and lead hazard
reduction.

The funds provide income-eligible households a zero percent interest-deferred loan due when the home is sold, if it is no longer the primary residence, or it is 30 years from the date of closing.

For more information and to receive an application for the program, please contact Mona Aubut,
housing program specialist, at 715-343-7146 or [email protected].
