WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties will host their annual “Day of Caring” raking event to assist the elderly and disabled on Oct. 26.

The day begins at 8 a.m. at the Grand Rapids Lion’s Club where volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and a hot breakfast.

Volunteers and teams can register online at https://www.uwswac.org/day-caring.

Local elderly and disabled individuals who wish to have their yards raked by volunteers can register by calling 715-421-0390.

This program is designed for low- or fixed-income elderly and/or disabled residents who have no other means of completing the raking service.

Deadline to register is Oct. 11.
