Here is a rundown of veterans-related activities happening this year in the Wisconsin Rapids area. 

Poppies, Orange Blossoms Flower drives for 2017 are as follows:
May 5 – American Legion Post 9
June 2-3 – VVA Chapter 101
July 14-15 – DAV Chapter 55 (in Wisconsin Rapids, July 21-22 in Nekoosa)
August 25-26 – VFW Post 2534
American Legion Post 442 to be determined

Central Wisconsin Airport will host a Never Forgotten Honor Flight on April 24, May 22, September 11 and October 9.  Organizations planning to attend the return flight welcome are asked to be at CWA by 8:30 p.m.

The Memorial Day program will take place the Forest Hill Mausoleum on May 29 at 11:00 a.m.  Veteran’s organizations bearing their colors are encouraged to be there by 10:30 a.m.

There will be a Wood County Veterans Memorial ceremony on May 26 at the Wood County Courthouse at 11:00 a.m.  All color Guards are invited and are encouraged to arrive a half hour before the ceremony.

VVA Chapter 101 and VFW Post 2534 will have a veteran recognition on May 20. King Veterans Home will have an open house on May 21 from 10 am to 2:30 pm.
